What inspired you to join Steatite?

What really inspired me to join Steatite was the people and the culture, from the outset it felt like a collaborative and supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to contribute and grow. I’ve been here almost a year, and that’s exactly how it is! Steatite stood out as a business where I could learn from experienced colleagues whilst contributing to meaningful and interesting projects that have real world impact.

Can you describe your career journey since joining?

Since joining Steatite as an Office Administrator in April 2025, I’ve steadily expanded my understanding of the business and how different teams operate. Over the past year, I’ve taken every opportunity to apply & build on my skills, streamline processes and support colleagues across the business. As my responsibilities grew, from managing day-to-day administrative tasks to assisting with wider business support functions, I became increasingly involved in projects that required greater coordination, problem-solving, and ownership. This progression led to my promotion to Business Support Executive, a role that has allowed me to contribute at a higher level and play a more active part in supporting our Leadership team and wider business. It’s been a rewarding journey so far, and I’m proud of how much I’ve developed since joining. I’m incredibly grateful to have such a supportive team and leadership, their guidance, encouragement and willingness to help have made a huge difference to my growth and confidence.

What do you enjoy most about working here?

I enjoy the variety of projects and tasks I’m involved with day-to-day and I enjoy the combination of a supportive team, a positive culture and the chance to keep developing. I feel valued, trusted and encouraged to grow, and having colleagues and managers who are always willing to help or offer guidance makes a huge difference. The people really make the days, across all Solid-State Plc.

What has been a memorable project or proudest moment so far?

My proudest moment so far is being promoted within just under a year of being with Steatite. I’m proud that I have achieved so much in a short amount of time and that I have made an impact, and it’s so refreshing to be recognised for the determination and hard work. My most memorable and current project, along with being a proud moment too, is being invited to join the Group Project Office (GPO). This is a newly formed team to coordinate and maximise collaborative opportunities with key clients across all divisions of Solid State. I am excited to be a part of this new initiative and thankful for the opportunity.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about joining Steatite?

Take the leap and click ‘Apply’! It’s a diverse and fast-moving business with a lot of specialised areas. It’s a company where you can genuinely add value, take on responsibility and see the impact of what you do. If you’re proactive and willing to get involved, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to contribute and grow.
