What inspired you to join Steatite?

I was inspired to join Steatite because I’ve always had a strong interest in technology, particularly in how computers and advanced systems are engineered and applied in real-world environments. The industry Steatite operates in really appealed to me, working with cutting-edge computing solutions, rugged hardware, and innovative technology felt like a perfect fit for my interests. I wanted to be part of a company where I could learn, grow, and contribute to meaningful technical projects, and Steatite stood out as a place where I could do exactly that.

Can you describe your career journey since joining?

Since joining Steatite, my career has developed steadily and in ways that have allowed me to build both my technical skills and practical experience. I initially joined the production team, where I gained a solid foundation in the systems and equipment we work with. Over time, I progressed into project work, which gave me the opportunity to take on more responsibility and get involved in building communication products such as the CRiB and the MMCU.

To support this work, I completed an MAC course, which strengthened my understanding and helped me contribute more effectively to the builds. Shortly after, a fantastic opportunity came up to join the communications field team. This move allowed me to apply my hands-on technical skills in a new environment, broaden my experience even further, and take on more field-focused responsibilities. Overall, my journey at Steatite has been one of continuous learning, growth, and progression.

What do you enjoy most about working here?

What I enjoy most about working here is the opportunity to carry out exercises and demonstrations for a wide range of customers in different locations. I really appreciate the variety this brings, every demonstration is slightly different and being able to showcase our equipment in real-world scenarios keeps the role engaging and hands-on. I also enjoy meeting different customers, understanding their needs, and showing them how our solutions can support their operations. The mix of technical work, travel, and direct customer interaction makes the job both exciting and rewarding.

What has been a memorable project or proudest moment so far?

One of my most memorable and proudest moments so far was during DSEI 2025. I had been responsible for a key part of the setup, and seeing everything coming together exactly as planned was incredibly rewarding. Watching the network I built perform flawlessly in such a high-profile environment gave me a real sense of achievement. On top of that, receiving positive feedback and comments about the setup from both colleagues and visitors made the experience even more meaningful. It was a moment that really highlighted the impact of my work and reinforced my confidence in what I can deliver.
