What inspired you to join Custom Power?
I previously joined Steatite within the Power Division nearly 7 years ago with no previous experience in Batteries. Since rejoining Custom Power, I came to realize the people I worked with had such a positive impact in my day to day working - I realized I really missed the people and the culture I had for so many years. Alongside that, I have always wanted to remain within the battery industry due to the contribution we provide for products we power for critical applications in to industries such as medical, defence and aerospace and ultimately being part of innovation rather than commodity production.
Can you describe your career journey since joining?
I have come back into a role which is a new focus for Custom Power. We are in a growth mode where we are looking to expand our capabilities further to expand on our respected and long term customer base.
Learning opportunities at Custom Power are encouraged and is something readily available to all staff to support with personal development. Personally, the new role is going to enable me to contribute new ideas which is very fresh to the business and has given me new challenges to aspire to.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
The people and the closeness to the office has so much impact in how I feel about coming to work and offers flexibility within how and where I work.
What has been a memorable project or proudest moment so far?
I’m proud that in a short period after returning, I’ve been able to regain trust and add meaningful value in some of the recent tasks that I have undertaken so far.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about joining Custom Power?
If you are someone who is looking to join and is passionate about taking on new challenges where they can genuinely influence outcomes then this would be great place of work. Like any growing business, there are challenges - but that’s also where opportunity lies.
