What inspired you to join Gateway Electronic Components?

I graduated from university with a degree in Marketing and had worked in customer-facing roles in hospitality through school and college. I was looking for a job in Sales to utilise my service and relationship building skills, as well as my transferable skills from my Marketing degree, and the Internal Account Manager role at Gateway was the perfect fit. I also knew colleagues prior to joining who recommended the role and the company to me.

Can you describe your career journey since joining?

I began as a Sales Administrator with no prior knowledge of the world of electronic components, but I quickly picked this up working alongside the team at Gateway who are all super helpful ferrite experts. I was later promoted to Internal Account Manager as I began taking on a wider range of accounts to look after.

What do you enjoy most about working here?

I love building relationships with my customers and finding solutions to any challenges they might have. The team here is also great - we work well together and everyone is always happy to help each other.

What has been a memorable project or proudest moment so far?

A memorable project would be working with a car manufacturer based in Europe to create custom ferrite parts in our machine shop for them.

What advice would you give to someone thinking about joining Gateway Electronic Components?

I’d say if you like variety it’s really good - being a distributor as well as having our in-house machine shop, you get exposure to different areas of the business. You also pick up a lot of knowledge about components, and the huge range of products that use the parts that we sell in all sorts of industries, which is really interesting.
