All new starters enjoy a two-day induction programme, recently redesigned to include dynamic interactive and visual elements, to learn about Rocco Forte Hotels’ history, culture and the hotel they are joining. of Service

We’re very proud of the outstanding level of service we offer – it’s part of what sets us apart. Our 7-day intensive training programme is tailored for different fields and teaches our team members everything they need to know to achieve and even exceed our standards.

In-House & Specialist
Training

From specific skills, like mixology, to broader topics, such as cultural awareness, service philosophy and behavioural approaches, we make sure every team member regularly gets the training that they need, both in-house and from external trainers. We don’t have a one-size-fits-all approach and we train our team to be the best they can be.

Redeveloped recently based on team feedback, our unique development programme offers future leaders the chance to learn key management skills, how their roles fit into the wider business and the confidence needed to expertly manage people and projects.

Cross Training
Programme

It’s important for team members to form bonds with their colleagues as well as develop and hone their skill sets in all areas. We offer the opportunity for team members to cross-train at different properties around Europe, getting an enjoyable insight into each location along the way.

Future App

Training needn’t be deskbound, so we’ve developed a bespoke mobile app to help team members set goals, access training content and receive advice from Career Coaches on-the-go. Including an instant messaging system, newsfeed, vacancy updates and instructional videos, our team members find it invaluable.

Inspirational Stories

Discover what our Team Members have to say about working at Rocco Forte Hotels for an insight into how your future with us could look.

Emma Lonie, Restaurant Manager, The Balmoral

“Working at Rocco Forte Hotels feels like being part of a family, and their multidisciplinary approach provides many opportunities.

I’ve been Chef de Rang, Supervisor, Sommelier, Assistant Manager and now I manage the Michelin-starred Number One restaurant at The Balmoral, where our team works with the very best local produce. Our shared love of hospitality creates lasting bonds between us: on Number One’s 20th anniversary, we reunited our previous Head Chefs to cook for our team and regular guests, which was magical. With Mathew Sherry as our new Head Chef, I’m very excited for the future.”

Alex Wilson, Front Office Manger, Brown’s Hotel

“Rocco Forte Hotels is different to other companies I’ve worked with—they’re incredibly supportive and really nurture development.

Over my four years at London’s oldest hotel, my career has flourished and I’ve had the chance to travel and work at many locations across the group, too. Today, I’m Front Office Manager at Brown’s, and proud to lead such a great department. Every day, I get the chance to make a difference to our guests by creating distinctive, individual experiences; it’s challenging, rewarding and varied.

Managing Director Stuart Johnson has encouraged me every step of the way, to pursue my passion for hospitality both inside and outside Brown’s. He’s supported me in becoming an advisor to the government for Business Management and Hospitality, a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and to get an Acorn Award - I’m very grateful for the support Rocco Forte have given me.”

Ruggero Silipo, Assistant Front Office Manager, Hotel De La Ville

“My role here lets me do what I love: work with people!

I started as Assistant Guest Relations Manager at Verdura Resort in 2010; my first check-in was memorable, as my paperwork flew away during a VIP helicopter landing. The Forte family take an active interest in our career progression. When I needed to move to Rome, I was offered the chance to join Hotel de Russie as a Front Desk Agent. I once checked in Steven Tyler, who performed for me and my colleagues—unforgettable. Today, I’m proud to represent the Hotel de la Ville opening team as Assistant Front Office Manager. Every day is different and every day gives me the opportunity to make people smile.”
