Junior Commercial Contracts Lawyer (In-House)

Our Support Office a modern office located close to Old Street and Barbican in central London. This friendly open plan office houses several of the key support functions including Sales, Human Resources, Marketing and Central Revenue. Conveniently located with great transport links the office is the London base for the back office functions of Guoman and Thistle.

The Role

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will be involved in advising on, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of contracts (including supply, purchase, agency, tour operator, booking agreements) and managing the conduct of claims and disputes. Experience of intellectual property rights and a good understanding of IT service agreements (both software and hardware), consumer/competition law, e-commerce and sales & marketing issues are highly relevant to the role.

What we look for

Qualifications: 2-3 years PQE in the UK


Experienced commercial lawyer.
Experience of working in-house, fully embedded with the business units (Sales & Marketing, IT, Procurement, E-commerce), with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the business.
Background in commercial contracts, with strong negotiation and drafting skills.
Ability to identify legal risks and propose solutions to mitigate them.
A willingness to develop the skills required to assist in other areas of work, if and when required.
The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure, when required.
A positive attitude, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Accustomed to using initiative and acting autonomously.
Strong academics.

Candidate must be eligble to work in the UK.

A background in leisure or hospitality would be an advantage but is not essential. Candidates from private practice, having worked in-house on secondment, will also be considered.
