Gidleigh Park enjoys an exceptional position, situated in 107 acres of secluded gardens and woodland. The hotel is located within the heart of Dartmoor National Park and has the North Teign River flowing openly through the grounds. The 24 individually designed and beautifully decorated rooms are sumptuously furnished, with all the modern conveniences you would expect, yet they still retain much of their original and delicate charm. With Executive Head Chef Michael Caines MBE at the helm, the restaurant is renowned for creating innovative European dishes and has received much critical acclaim from food lovers around the world. The restaurant is considered to be one of the finest in the country and for the last ten years has been the proud holder of two Michelin stars. Alongside its outstanding cuisine, Gidleigh Park has long enjoyed the reputation of having one of the finest wine lists in the country.


As a Receptionist, you will be on hand to welcome our guest, ensuring all details are accurately taken and telephone calls are handled promptly in both a personal and professional manner. Exceptional customer service skills and a polite friendly manner are key to this exciting role.

This role is based on working any 5 days from 7, to include early mornings, evenings and weekends. Experience as a hotel receptionist in a Relais & Châteaux or a four/five star property is preferred, but we will consider applicants from other types of property or sectors, as full training will be provided. What is essential is that you have excellent communication and computer skills and a real passion and drive for providing outstanding customer service.

Applicants must be prepared to travel in to Gidleigh (near Chagford) or re-locate to the local area, and bear in mind that it' stunning and picturesque rural location means that the nearest amenities are in the small town of Chagford and the nearest city, Exeter, is approximately 45 minutes away.
