Our 5th Avenue store is the US Flagship and the largest store in the states. Housing 40,000 square feet of the latest fashion and spanning four floors of our iconic building on the world-famous fashion corridor of Fifth Avenue. The store sits adjacent to one of epicenters of New York City: Rockefeller Center. It has a team of over 200 team members to deliver an exceptional customer experience in this demanding area of the city.

The Job


• Manage the visual team to create an amazing shopping experience for the customer through merchandising inspirational trends and placing best sellers
• Role model a customer first approach and coach your team to think about the impact on the customer of all merchandising decisions
• Partner with the Brand Managers to ensure the customer needs are always met and the Brand’s vision is maintained
• Ensure an easy customer flow is always maintained through effective fixture placement
• Work with the creative manager to ensure that all stock displayed on the mannequins is available nearby (‘See-it, buy-it’) for the customer
• Highlight opportunities for the team to meet the Fashion Role Model expectation to Assistant Visual Manager and Team Leads
• Manage personal productivity and review how effectively the team organizes the accomplishment of tasks to ensure the customer experience is not impacted


• Challenge and review store layout by partnering with the senior management and utilizing all reporting tools to create the best layout for the local market, challenging the Brand guidelines where appropriate
• Lead structured floor walks with in-store teams and support functions to critique the visual proposition and generate ideas to maximize sales
• Ensure the visual team have a detailed understanding of the competitors and local market activity through facilitating competitor walks
• Actively grow the VM leaders of the future through coaching and inspiring the team want to grow and progress within the business
• Drive the visual team to support all instore teams to deliver all daily and weekly targets through effectively reviewing trend and product placement decisions
• Partner with senior management and the FVM to successfully deliver the Model Store process through driving the visual team to work with all store functions to achieve the company expectation for seasonal set-ups
• Partner with senior management to encourage feedback on the visual proposition from all visitors and host successful visits that challenge the visual proposition
• When requested, you support the Company Model Store roll-outs and New Store opening process
• Support the management team to deliver all Health and Safety requirements and provide a safe environment for customers and the team
• Liaise with the Head Office VM team to ensure the store has the correct graphics and review their use with the team to ensure all instore graphics are delivered to Brand guidelines
• Keep up-to-date with all Brand and VM team communication
• Deliver on any Duties of Responsibilities (DORs) or projects assigned by the management team
• Knowledge and adherence to all company policies and procedures


• Demonstrate the ability to work with a sense of urgency, effectively balancing multiple requests and tasks
• Create a culture where all levels of the team can generate and implement new Visual and Creative ideas
• Represent the visual function as part of the senior management team and foster a cooperative culture across all instore functions
• Seek feedback from the senior management team and head office functions to raise awareness of personal successes and opportunities to support your continuous professional development
• Network outside of the store to build an understanding of the talent available in your local market place and identify individuals that can be recruited to support the delivery of the Brand’s vision
• Respond positively and professionally to all kinds of feedback, knowing when to accept, challenge or influence
• Manage the cascade of all messages to the team, consistently reviewing communication channels (including TAPP) and checking regularly for understanding
• Ensure all relevant Brand information is communicated within the senior management team to aid decision making and to support the store meet its objectives
• Create a culture where expectations are fully understood by the team and performance is managed effectively
• Partner with the senior management team to support store succession plans and have a clear view of where the team are delivering through implementing robust reviews and personal development plans
• Drive an inclusive culture for all by encouraging everyone within the team to have a voice and listening to their opinions
• Demonstrate flexibility in leadership style and approach to fit individual’s needs
• Demonstrate an ability to problem-solve and react quickly to changing situations

Must Haves

• 2 - 3 years of Visual merchandising / creative experience in a fashion retail environment
• 3-4 years of Management experience
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience of managing and influencing the visual proposition of the store
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to predict and plan for future challenges and business growth opportunities
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced and ever changing climate
• Strong focus on leading the team to drive success across a range of key performance indicators
