Our 5th Avenue store is the US Flagship and the largest store in the states. Housing 40,000 square feet of the latest fashion and spanning four floors of our iconic building on the world-famous fashion corridor of Fifth Avenue. The store sits adjacent to one of epicenters of New York City: Rockefeller Center. It has a team of over 200 team members to deliver an exceptional customer experience in this demanding area of the city.

The Job


• Recognized as a role model for creating an exceptional experience for the customer through overseeing and delivering inspirational trends and product merchandising
• Consistently dress as a ‘Fashion Role Model’ and support the team members to meet the expectation
• ‘Connect with customers’ by demonstrating a flexible service and selling style
• Support the team to tailor outfit builds to represent the Brand to deliver trends and product placement that reflect all best-sellers and big deals
• Drive ‘know your stuff’, supporting the team to develop the knowledge needed to answer any internal or external customer questions
• Support the team to consistently deliver ‘All Sizes Out’ and ‘See-It, Buy-It’ by coaching the team on the expectations and explaining the impact they have on the customer experience
• Manage time and tasks effectively, putting the needs of the customer first to ensure that VM tasks completed by you and the team don’t impact on the customer experience


• Utilize an in-depth knowledge of the local market and competitors to highlight any opportunities to do things better to the Visual Manager
• Ensure all Brand guidelines /‘Model Store’ standards are delivered across all departments and trends everyday
• Support the team to deliver departments, trends and product placement to the highest level of Brand standards, coaching the team to meet this expectations when required
• Partner with the visual manager to support the team to adjust brand guidelines to suit the store package and customer profile
• Support the management team in meeting all Health and Safety guidelines to create a safe environment for your team and customers
• Demonstrate the ability to spot potential risks and take appropriate actions to minimize the impact on the business
• Challenge the team to create and implement new and inspirational merchandising techniques
• Support the management team with any actions which impact on the reduction of stockloss/shrink
• Coach the team on the Brand’s key merchandising values that set TOPSHOP TOPMAN apart from the competition
• Deliver on any Duties of Responsibilities (DORs) or projects assigned by the management team
• Knowledge and adherence to all company policies and procedures


• Support the cascade all relevant information to the team and use all communication methods to energize and inform the team
• Proactively connect with all instore functions to support the successful execution of creative treatments and window schemes
• Demonstrate the ability to work with a sense of urgency, efficiently balancing multiple requests and tasks
• Work as a team player and identify when somebody in the team needs support
• Help to create a fun culture that people want to be a part of
• Respond positively to constructive feedback always seeing it as an opportunity to grow
• Demonstrate self-awareness and be proactive with regards to personal development and seeking opportunities to progress
• Support with the selection and induction of new team members
• Identify individual and team training needs and support in the development of these through one to one coaching and training sessions or tools
• Demonstrate a flexible approach and style to fit the needs for the individual
• Consistently deliver appropriate feedback to individuals celebrating their successes and being constructive where support is needed
• Positively promote the VM function to the rest of the store team and be seen as an expert in Visual skills and knowledge

Must Haves

• 1 – 2 years of supervisor experience or equivalent
• 1 – 2 years of Visual merchandising / creative experience in a fashion retail environment
• Strong organizational skills Enjoy working in a fast-paced and ever changing climate
• Strong focus on leading the team to drive success across a range of key performance indicators
• Excited by having the opportunity to identify solutions to operational, product and team challenges
• Role model exceptional internal and external customers service
• Open Availability to suit the business needs (including weekends and occasional nights)
