We’re so excited to be opening our first TOPSHOP TOPMAN Miami store. Our 11th store in the US is going to be opening within Aventura Mall’s amazing new extension in late 2017. This fab new concept store will span two levels, with 12,700 square feet dedicated to TOPSHOP on the second floor and a 5,600 square feet TOPMAN on the first floor. The Aventura Mall is Miami’s premier fashion destination and one of America’s most visited shopping centers according to Travel + Leisure magazine, Aventura Mall features a collection of upscale boutiques and more than 300 of the world’s most iconic retailers.

Deputy General Managers are senior leaders that drive consistency across all functions within the store to execute the Brand’s vision and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Partnering with the General Manager, the DGM owns the day-to-day operation of the store, challenging the senior management team to drive sales, protect profit and create a great place to shop and work

The Job

Customer

• Drive a consistent exceptional customer experience all day every day through challenging the senior management team to focus on delivering a service and selling culture where everyone places the customer first
• Challenge the senior management team to drive a consistent approach to delivering Service and Selling expectations across the store including ‘Fashion Role Model’, ‘Connect with Customer’, ‘All Sizes Out’ and ‘Know your Stuff’
• Partner with the GM to role model a customer first approach
• Manage personal productivity and review how effectively the team organizes the accomplishment of tasks to ensure the customer experience is not impacted

Store

• Support the GM to deliver a vision and purpose for the store each season and work with the senior management team to understand their role in delivering all targets, plans and goals
• Consistently review all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with the senior management teams to ensure they are exploiting all opportunities and managing risks
• Partner with the operations manager to deliver within the stores cost plans, supporting the senior management team with implementing strategies to prevent overspends and spot opportunities to make cost savings
• Partner with the GM to assist with the senior management team understanding the global needs of the store outside of their function and establish priorities that will deliver the store overall goals
• Effectively support the management team to deliver the store’s payroll plan, consistently reviewing spend against plan and forecasts to maintain ratio
• Compete checks and audits required to ensure all loss prevention, health and safety and admin policies and procedures are adhered to
• Challenge the senior management team’s implementation of Brand standards to deliver a consistent, exciting environment for the customer
• Review the store’s communication with concession head office and/or field teams to influence the stock and drive sales
• Complete daily and weekly floorwalks to drive consistency and standards in the building, highlighting any immediate actions that need to be implemented by the management team
• Partner with the senior management team to deliver a sales floor layout that suits the local customer and drives the current stock package
• Coach the senior management team to maximize all product opportunities identified
• Review plans with the Visual and Creative managers to ensure the smooth management of all moves and visual or creative changes within the store
• Demonstrate a strong awareness of the competition and local market to spot opportunities to stay ahead of the customer experience and trends
• Embrace Multichannel advancements and positively promote all business initiatives that promote this experience for the customer
• Manage your time and tasks effectively, putting the needs of the customer first to ensure that tasks don’t impact on the customer experience
• Knowledge and adherence to all company policies and procedures

Team

• Coach the team to react quickly to the changing demands and deliver with a sense of urgency, effectively balancing multiple requests and tasks
• Partner with the GM to inspire a positive work environment, supporting a culture where individuals feel supported
• Role model adapting your leadership style to support the senior management team meet the needs of the individual and situation
• Utilize TAPP and all instore resources to execute an effective cascade of all communication to the teams and create appropriate checks for understanding
• Drive a focus on development throughout the team through role modeling a focus on personal development by consistently seeking and giving feedback
• Partner with the GM to execute a culture based on performance where individuals are clear on their roles and responsibilities and how they are performing against the expectations
• Establish a clear succession plan for your team that supports the needs of the store and the wider business
• Create an culture where all levels of the team can generate and implement new ideas that drive the business forward
• Monitor and support the activity that supports team engagement, promoting the benefits to all of having the high levels of engagement
• Act at all times as a role model for the Brand and the US Leadership team, utilizing connections with other senior managers to represent a voice for the store to influence shared best practice and influence the way we do business
• Encouraging networking outside of the store to build an understanding of the talent available in your local market place and identify individuals that can be recruited to support the delivery of the Brand’s vision
• Respond positively and professionally to all kinds of feedback, knowing when to accept, challenge or influence

Must Haves

• Experience of managing $15million+ turnover within a large space store
• 5 years of senior management experience
• Ability to influence and inspire a established leadership team
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced and ever changing climate
• Strong focus on leading the team to drive success across a range of key performance indicators
• Excited by having the opportunity to identify solutions to operational, product and team challenges
• Role model exceptional internal and external customers service
• Open Availability to suit the business needs (including weekends and occasional nights)
