I have always aspired to work for the V&A Museum as I believe it is the world's greatest museum in this field. My work here can involve anything from making jewellery in workshops with Asylum Seekers, to appointing new members to my team, to being a representative for Cultural Diversity and Equalities on strategy working groups. As a result, every day is different.

I try to spend as much time as I can connecting myself with the galleries here and admiring our beautiful collections, as it can be easy to forget that you work in a national museum if you spend too much time doing office based activities. My South Asian activities are based around our South Asian collections and I manage a disparate programme of community workshops, special events, festivals and cultural celebrations both in the museum and further afield.

I have recently been given the extra responsibility of becoming Team Leader for Cultural Diversity, this means that I now manage a team within the section. I enjoy the challenge of this role and find it rewarding to see the great range of programmes the team organises and manages.

I have always enjoyed working with people and here at the V&A I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with a large variety of people internally and externally. I have a great team which works well together by offering creative ideas and supporting each other. I also enjoy liaising with colleagues across various departments, and find it rewarding working with various community groups, family groups, young people and visitors to the Museum.
