Customer Care

The customer care team pride themselves on providing excellent customer service. The Customer Care team are the main point of telephone contact for all customer calls approximately 10,000 externally calls per month. Some of the activities that the Customer Care team are responble for include:

  • Receiving and expediting customer orders
  • Providing a high level of customer support by dealing with any type of customer enquiry that has been received through the customer care contact centre.
  • Providing internal support to our field based sales colleagues.
  • Maintaining pricing and customer contract information
  • Change control maintainence of product master data
  • Customer complaints administration
  • Sales and Marketing support including key account maintainence

The team receive continuous training and support to ensure that they are equipped to answer our customer’s questions professionally and efficiently so they can meet our customer needs and expectations, this helps to ensure that our customers keep coming back!

Distribution

The Distribution Centre is the hub of the B. Braun's UK Goods Receipt, Storage and Distribution network, receiving products from the group's factories and warehouses around the world and despatching orders to our many and varied customers in the UK and overseas. This is carried out in line with the requirements of the various regulatory bodies governing the distribution and storage of medical products and to the high standards of service our customers require.

Our goal is to deliver all customers orders to them accurately, efficiently and on time by optimising the hardware and software at our disposal and by focusing and developing our team in order to achieve this level of service.

Finance

A key service function to the organisation. The primary role is to provide the information and the expertise to measure the progress of the organisation towards achieving its business strategy.

With the strategic board the finance department must control the direction of the organisation acting as "policeman" to challenge the decisions of the management team and to measure the efficiency of strategy implementation.

The department also performs essential housekeeping tasks necessary to keep the organisation operating. For example, paying suppliers, processing expense claims, collecting debt and dealing with statutory and taxation affairs.

The B. Braun global business is supported by two main software systems, SAP and Lotus Notes. These two applications provide the company with the necessary functionality to operate. With B. Braun being a German based company the main Data centre is in our head office in Melsungen. All SAP servers are housed and managed in Germany, yet the software is currently supported locally.

Within the UK function is a small team of professionals, committed to providing quality support and technical services. Working alongside all divisions and departments, innovation and creative problem solving is encouraged to ensure the best service possible for the company.

Aesculap Academia – ‘Communication and education to promote excellence in medical science’

Aesculap Academia is B. Braun’s medical and surgical training and education subsidiary, and is part of B. Braun’s global network of training centres operating across all divisions of the company.

Aesculap Academia organizes a comprehensive range of medical and surgical training courses for all disciplines of modern medicine and surgery and has won international professional recognition for the high quality of its educational programmes in the UK.

Purchasing

Purchasing Department - The right products in the right place at the right time, that's what Purchasing at B. Braun is all about and with such a diverse range of products, more than 35000, it's no mean feat.

We source products on a global basis and hold more than 15,000 stocked lines in our warehouse in Sheffield. Our Inventory Team is responsible for four key processes within the Supply Chain Function, Inventory Management - controlling stock values and product availability, Customer Back-order Management - ensuring the customers stock requirements are met, Supplier Management - on a truly global scale and Demand Planning & Forecasting.

In addition, Central Purchasing is all about Cost Saving, Service Level Improvements and Internal Process improvements to reduce costs. Our team of three control/negotiate all major contracts for goods and services to the UK business generating savings every year of around £500,000.
